Sony Ericsson officially announced the Xperia arc last night. The specs, pictures and promo videos had already leaked before the announcement but it was nice to see that this seriously impressive design was real. We managed to get hands-on with the device this morning and will follow-up with some thoughts later. In the meantime, we’ve added the official specifications along with a gallery of images in the ‘Gallery’ and ‘Specifications’ tabs at the very top of the blog.
The Xperia arc will launch with Android 2.3 and comes with a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and a 4.2-inch multitouch TFT display dubbed the Reality display. Sony Ericsson has also utilised Sony’s Bravia Engine technology to give clearer images. It is seriously lightweight too at just 117g and measuring 8.7mm at its thinnest point. The phone will come with an 8MP Exmore R camera sensor that makes it great for low-light shooting. The handset also comes with a built-in HDMI connector. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the handset will be available at the end of Q1.
