Mobile-Review’s Eldar Murtazin has managed to get hold of another upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia handset and written a lengthy preview of the device. The handset, codenamed MT15i or Hallon, is the Android successor to the Symbian-based Vivaz.
Eldar claims that the phone will launch in April 2011 with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). This would put it in the same launch time frame as the Xperia arc. The preview does not mention what size display the MT15i will have, but it will use Reality Display technology running at 854 x 480 resolution.
Other specs include a 1GHz Snapdragon MSM7630 chipset (with Adreno 205 GPU) and 512MB RAM. It will also utilise the same 8MP Exmor R sensor of the Xperia arc. The phone won some high praise for its design (which will include several colour options), battery life (1500mAh battery) and a mid-range price point (€320-350). We expect to hear more at MWC next month.
