Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play partners with Havok, MLGSony Ericsson has announced a couple of partnerships that will help to push the Xperia Play. The first and most important one in our view is that Havok, a middleware engine used for the development of some triple-A console and PC titles, has been ported to Android Gingerbread and optimised for use on the Xperia PLAY.

What this means is that developers now have a wider toolset to create some stunning games for the PLAY. This includes physics, animation (ragdoll) and behavioural technology (all demonstrated ion the video below).

The second announcement is that the Xperia PLAY is now the official handset of Major League Gaming. MLG will be showing off the XPERIA Play at their Pro Circuit tour that starts on 1 April in Dallas as well as other cities. There will also be demonstrations, game challenges and giveaways featuring the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play.
