Some leaked information from an anonymous tipster seems to suggest that Sony Ericsson Japan is preparing to launch a new handset codenamed Nozomi in November 2011. A leak of a purported spec-sheet shows that this Android smartphone will have the model number SO-02D and will be exclusive to NTT-DoCoMo. The headline features include a 1.4GHz single-core Snapdragon S2 chipset (MSM8655T) with Adreno 205 GPU and 4.3-inch display with 1280 × 720 pixel resolution. The specs also suggest that the Nozomi will come with a micro-SIM as seen in the iPhone 4.
Another set of images supposedly show Sony Ericsson’s distinctive UI of the handset. We don’t know whether this handset will see a global release or whether this will be an exclusive for the Japanese market (much like the Xperia acro). Of course these are all rumours for now so we’ll bring you any further (and hopefully concrete) news as soon as we get it.
