The 1.4GHz Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S just landed on our doorstep and we wanted to share our initial thoughts. To be honest, given that the phone is pretty much identical to the Xperia arc apart from processor grunt, it’s difficult to say anything different to what we’ve already covered in our recent six month review.
However, this is a white Xperia arc S and damn is it sexy. Much sexier than our Midnight Blue version. It has a glossy white back cover, but unlike darker plastics, you’ll probably never notice the fingerprint marks on it. In terms of performance, it feels fast but right now it’s difficult to ascertain how much faster it is over the 1GHz original.
The handset is running Android 2.3.4 firmware out of the box, however the build number is 4.0.1.A.0.266 rather than the 4.0.1.A.0.283 version hitting other handsets. We’ll come back in due course with our full thoughts, but in the mean time check out some pictures below. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask in the comments below.
