Sony Ericsson ST25i to be called Xperia U on release?

in Rumours, Xperia S, Xperia U

Sony Xperia UAn interesting reference to the Sony (Ericsson) ST25i ‘Kumquat’ has appeared on the Indonesian Postel website. The website represents the Indonesian Telecoms Regulatory body, listing a number of handsets and which network they will appear on. There are two Sony Ericsson handsets: the Xperia S (row 209) and the Xperia U (row 232). The latter is referred to as the ST25i.

Do they know something that we don’t? Quite possibly, given that they are a regulatory body. Also, we already have one handset using a single letter for the model name, why not extend this over two or more handsets? The naming choice would be a strange one in our eyes, but we wouldn’t rule it out. Our biggest issue, if this turns out to be true, is what exactly does ‘S’ or ‘U’ stand for? It could turn out to be a bit messy if there are a lot of Sony handsets released in 2012.
