Unlocked Xperia NXT smartphones headed to the United States in Summer 2012

There has been little news regarding a US release for the upcoming Sony Xperia NXT series of smartphones. We know that the Xperia ion will be released on AT&T during Q2 2012, but that has been it regarding US-bound Xperia phones.

Well it looks like unlocked versions of the Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U will be heading to US shores. MobileBurn reports that these phones will be available at Sony stores and online from June/July. Sony still hasn’t given up hope on the phones appearing on a US carrier, but if not it plans to be “aggressive” over the distribution of these NXT handsets.
