The Carphone Warehouse is the biggest mobile phone retailer in the UK. It therefore disappoints us that they could spout so much garbage in their press release last week. At the time they stated that the Sony Xperia T would launch on 5 September i.e. today. Well today has come and (almost) gone and guess what, no Xperia T.
The website still lists the Xperia T as coming soon and phoning around a few stores in London yielded a number of blank responses. Calling the national sales line and the staff were even more clueless, referring us to the website. We did speculate that something was wrong last week when the press release talked of the Xperia J shipping today too, this was despite Sony pointing to a Q4 2012 release.
So when can you expect the Xperia T? Well, Sony confirmed this morning that the Xperia T will launch “over the next few weeks”. Pre-orders opened up at Phones4U, another popular UK retailer, who suggest the Xperia T will launch on Wednesday 26 September. This sounds more realistic to us so mark the date in your diaries.
