Xperia T coming to O2 UK as “The Bond Phone” with exclusive goodies [Update]

in Xperia T

Earlier on we reported that the Sony Xperia T would be heading to two UK operators – Three and Vodafone. Well you can add a third to the list. We have been sent some screenshots from O2 inventory that appear to show that the handset will be available on the carrier. The inventory shot lists the ‘Xperia Mint’, which most of you know was the codename for the Xperia T (LT30p). Note that one of the pictures refers to the handset as “The Bond Phone”, expect that kind of marketing to feature heavily on launch.

O2 will start selling the phone from the 26 September, the same date that UK phones retailer Phones4U had pegged as the release date. O2 have managed to secure exclusivity on the white version of the handset for a limited period. Apparently O2 will make this news official by the end of the week so keep your eyes peeled on O2’s coming soon page.

Update: O2 now has the Xperia T on its coming soon page along with more information. It looks like O2 does not have exclusive on the colour (it will come in black only) but on a range of exclusive 007 goodies including “the 007 ringtone, themes, screensavers and SKYFALL images geo-tagged to the film’s locations plus exclusive James Bond packaging“. You’ll also be able to pick up the 007 Legends game on PS3, XBOX 360 or PC free for a limited time. O2 expects the handset towards the end of the month.

Thanks @craig_ord85!
