The Sony Xperia J smartphone has now started to ship in a number of territories around the world. The handset has already been on sale in Hong Kong for over a week, where it costs HK$2,098, although you will get a free screen protector and 8GB memory card for a limited time. It went on sale earlier this week in India for INR 16,490. In both cases, only the white handset is available.
The Xperia J is also available sim-free in the UK from today. Handtec have the handset for just under £180 in stock in black and white. If you’re on the O2 network however you can pick it up for £169.99 on PAYG. The handset is also expected to go on sale in Russia from today. The Sony Xperia J is powered by a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 MSM7227A chipset with Adreno 200 (enhanced) GPU. It will have a 4-inch gorilla glass display with FWVGA resolution (480 x 854) and supports 2-finger multi-touch. Other features include 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, microSD memory card support, 1750mAh battery, 5MP camera and VGA front-facing camera.
