The idea behind the digital store is that users can sign into SEN on a PC and then purchase and remotely download content onto the device of their choice. This is something the Google Play Store website does very well. From what we’ve seen, no PlayStation Mobile is included, although this may change in time. The ‘Games’ part of the store only supports the PS3, Vita and PSP.
The ‘Movies’ and ‘TV’ part of the store allows downloads to both Xperia smartphones and tablets. When content is purchased, it is added to your Download List on the device of choice (the most recent purchases will be at the top of the list). You have to manually download your content from this download list, there are no automatic downloads at this time. The store accepts credit cards, pre-paid cards and PayPal. A formal launch of the store is expected next week, so we’ll bring you further news when we have it.
