The Sony Xperia ZL (C650X) went on pre-order in the United States last week for $759.99 via the Sony Store, but the listing was removed shortly after. This time around, Sony Mobile has officially announced the handset for the US market with the same pricing intact. The LTE version of the Xperia ZL (C6506) will cost $759.99, however it is interesting to note that the HSPA+ version (C6502) will also be available for $719.99.
The handset remains on pre-order with an expected launch date of 8 April. We couldn’t see the HSPA+ version on pre-order just yet, but we expect it will appear soon. Sony has confirmed that the handset will soon be available at other retailers, so you may want to keep an eye on Newegg to see if it arrives any cheaper.
The C6502 supports the following frequencies: HSPA+ 1,2,4,5,8 and EDGE 850/900/1800/1900. The C6506 supports LTE: 2,4,5,17, HSPA+: 1,2,4,5,8 and EDGE 850/900/1800/1900.
