Sony Mobile schedules press event in Germany and Shanghai on 25 June – Xperia Z Ultra to be announced?

Sony Mobile has scheduled press events in both Germany and Shanghai on the 25 June. The German press invite broadly translates into the following:

“Looking for More? It is time for the next step. On Tuesday, the 25th June 2013 at 15:00 we take a first look at the future together.”

Use of the word ‘more’ in the invite could relate to the announcement of the company’s rumoured 6.44-inch device, expected to be called the Xperia Z Ultra.

A similar meeting has been scheduled on the same day in Shanghai and Sony’s Vice President Kunimasa Suzuki and Sony Chin’s Vice President Roland Cheng are both expected to attend.

We are not aware of other meetings taking place regionally and nothing has been set for the UK media from what we are aware of. We have reached out to Sony for a comment, but haven’t heard anything back so far.
