Sony SmartWatchSony looks certain to announce a new SmartWatch in the next few days at the Mobile Asia Expo 2013 being held in Shanghai. However, whilst we await official details on which direction Sony is heading in, Cnet has rumoured specs from its own sources. It reports that the new SmartWatch will have a larger display, a capacitive touch screen and three icon layout.

Interestingly, Cnet says the SmartWatch will be “minimally water-resistant“, although we’re not sure what ‘minimal’ means here. The device will also feature NFC for easy one-touch pairing. This isn’t a surprise since Sony has been adding NFC tech to pretty much all of its mid/high-end phones and it can be found in many other Sony products including TVs and speaker systems. There’s not long to wait on official details.

Thanks Kihoon!
