in Applications, Sony Tablet, Xperia Z Ultra, Xperia Z1

Sony Privilege Movies_1One of Sony’s recent promotions for the Xperia Z1, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Tablet Z is the chance to download six free movies. It went live a while back, although it was only available in a few countries (United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, Germany, France and Italy) at the time.

Sony has now expanded the promotion to a number of new countries including Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia , Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand and United Arab Emirates. Users can download six movies from a choice of ten including 2012, Battle: Los Angeles, Django Unchained, Elysium, Men in Black 3, Premium Rush, Terminator 4, The Amazing Spider-Man, The Karate Kid and Total Recall.

The redemption process is slightly different and involves the download of a new Sony application called ‘Privilege Movies‘ via the Xperia Privilege app. As long as you own one of the above mentioned devices and are resident in any country above you will be able to use this app to download and watch the movie directly. You will be able to re-download the movies an unlimited number of items – great if you’re worried about space on the device. Kudos to Sony to opening up this promotion to many more users worldwide.
