Sony Xperia modelsPeople are always looking for the next best thing, it often seems like as soon as one new mobile has been formally announced, people already looking to see how it can be improved in the next version. Whether this is down to new software, camera improvements or new technology such as fingerprint scanners or better displays, the pace of innovation continues to grow strongly.

O2 recently conducted a survey in the UK that showed it takes just four months on average before people start to get bored of their phones. Other highlights from the survey include a quarter of people become bored within just one month. Nearly two-thirds admit they would change phones even if their current handset worked perfectly well. “With technology advancing by the day it is perhaps little surprise that the initial euphoria of owning a new device wears off faster than ever,” said David Johnson, General Manager Devices for O2.

We have to admit we’re always looking over the horizon to discover the next best thing when it comes to Sony Xperia phones. Judging by comments here, it also seems that many of our readers get itchy for something new not too long after owning a new phone. So we thought we’d ask the question – are you generally happy with keeping a phone for the life of your contract? If not, at what point do you start to look enviously for something better? We’d love to hear your thoughts below.
