Sony adds the Xperia L to its AOSP project

Sony has unexpectedly added the Xperia L (C2104, C2105) to its Android Open Source Project (AOSP) for Xperia devices. Android 4.4 KitKat sources are available on GitHub allowing budding developers to help create their own ROMs. A lot of the functionality of the AOSP for Xperia L project is intact including the ability to make calls, using Wi-Fi, taking photos along with the sensors, NFC and the LED light. Features that are disabled include Bluetooth and GPS. Software binaries for the Xperia L are available here.

Other Xperia devices included in the AOSP project so far include the Xperia S, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z. For further details on these other devices click here.
