Okay folks, 2013 is about to come to a close, so it’s that time again where we ask you to vote for your favourite Sony Xperia device of the year. A year ago, we described 2012 as being a year of transition for Sony Mobile. If we reflect on events over the last 12 months, we would have to say it has been a breakthrough year for the company.
The emergence of the Xperia Z range of products has finally shown that Sony can compete with the big players, launching beautifully designed phones and tablets with a premium feel and the latest hardware. That last point is particularly important as, for the first time, it hasn’t felt that Sony is playing is catch up, particularly with the Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 – both cutting edge products in our eyes.
All in all, we count thirteen main Sony Xperia devices in 2013. This assumes the dual-SIM products are the same as the single SIM versions i.e. the Xperia M and Xperia M dual count as one device. We are also including the Xperia Tablet Z here as, for us, it remains one of the finest 10-inch tablets ever released. We also include Japanese models such as the Xperia UL and recently launched Xperia Z1 f (aka Xperia Z1 mini) after all this is a global poll.
So please give your vote below. We don’t necessarily want the poll to be a reflection of what handsets people actually own, but what they feel was the most ground-breaking product that Sony launched in 2013, whether that be based on design, hardware or even commercial success. We’d also love to hear your comments below and why you voted for your particular choice. Over to you!
