The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503) shares most of the great hardware found in the Xperia Z1 in a smaller form factor. However, the flip side is that the phone will still be priced close to flagship territory. The Xperia Z1 Compact has a RRP of €499 in Germany for the SIM-free version, the Amazon.de pre-order page is already live.
In the UK, it will cost around the £430 mark with both Clove and Unlocked-Mobiles taking pre-orders on the black/white versions. Amazon UK pre-orders are also live, although it seems that they are still working on the listing given the £595.67 pre-order price. Amazon has all four colours available.
In the UK, the phone will also be available through O2 as well as The Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U. No other carriers have announced their plans for the Xperia Z1 Compact right now. Phones4U says the phone will be out on 31 January 2014, although we understand most places will receive it by mid-February.
In Italy and Netherlands, the Xperia Z1 Compact will have an official price of €549. Obviously these are the official prices, so we expect it to be cheaper by the time they hit retail. Also with the Xperia Z1 having come down in price since its release, it will be an odd situation if the Xperia Z1 Compact is priced higher than its bigger brother.
