Sony is launching the “Sony Football Challenge” ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, which starts next month in Brazil. The app is your personal companion to the World Cup, keeping you abreast of team news and score lines as the tournament progresses.
The fun part of the app is trying to predict the score across all 64 matches. You can compete against your friends on Facebook and there will also be a global leaderboard. Once the tournament is over, the lucky 100 people who sit atop the leaderboard will win a selection of prizes as detailed below.
The app is part of Xperia Lounge and one of the fancy features is integration with the Sony SmartWatch 2 and SmartBand. This will enable you to get updates on the fly whilst the match is progressing including your world ranking, country ranking as well as your ranking within any private groups that you have set up. You will need to enter the challenge via the Xperia Lounge application and you must do so using your Facebook account.
