A couple of days back, T-Mobile US announced that firmware build 10.4.C.0.808 was rolling out for the Xperia Z (C6606). The problem was that no users received the update. Well it turns out that the firmware update is finally rolling out, but with firmware build 10.4.C.0.814 instead.
Up until now, T-Mobile Xperia Z owners had been stuck on firmware build 10.3.1.E.0.191 and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The good news is that we can confirm that this firmware build relates to an upgrade from Android 4.2.2 to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
This is perhaps a small consolation given that Sony recently started to roll the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to global Xperia Z owners, but we suppose it is better than nothing. The update is available over-the-air (OTA) right now. If you’ve download the update, let us know your thoughts below.
