The Sony Xperia Z2a (D6563) smartphone has today been released in Taiwan. The Xperia Z2a is a 16GB version of au’s Xperia ZL2 in Japan. The Xperia Z2a will support Taiwan’s full-band 4G LTE (700MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz) network, the first Sony phone to do so.
The Xperia Z2a has a recommended list price of NT$ 18,900 (£369, €464, $632). The handset will also be available via local carriers including Chunghwa Telecom, FarEasTone and Taiwan Mobile. As things stand, there is no sign of the Xperia Z2a heading to other markets.
The Xperia Z2a has a 5.0-inch 1080p VA display, a sealed 3000mAh battery, the Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) chipset, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 20.7MP Exmor RS camera, VGA (0.3MP) front-facing camera and IP55/IP58 certification for dust and water resistance. The Xperia Z2a is available in three colours (black, white and turquoise).
