It looks like Sony was waiting for its IFA 2014 reveal and new colour choices for the Xperia Z3, before announcing that the mid range Xperia M2 Aqua will also be available in a copper colour. Copper may become the new ‘purple’ for future Sony Xperia devices.
Rikke Gertsen Constein, Sony Mobile Art Director, said in a recent blog post that its colour strategy revolves around expression and being able to offer a range of colours/materials that are distinctly Sony Xperia.
For the models launched in H2, Sony refers to the two new colour lines as “Warm” (starts with an elemental copper with a range towards evocative red and orange) and “Jungle” (elegant silver green inspired by galvanised metals, which includes colours in fresh green and vibrant lime).
