Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact to land w/c 20 October; first firmware certified

The 8-inch Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is due to hit the UK during the week commencing 20 October 2014 says retailer Clove. This would peg the release date as slightly earlier than expected, with the official Sony Mobile Store suggesting deliveries from 4th November and Amazon.co.uk placing the launch at 1 November.

We have already seen firmware for the LTE-enabled Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact SKUs certified by the PTCRB. Both SGP621 and SGP641 variants are certified with build number 23.0.1.A.0.167, which incidentally is the same version that was recently certified for the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet. This is likely to indicate no UI differences between these devices. We’ll keep you posted as the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact launch nears.
