Sony Mobile has released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop firmware update for the Xperia Z2 and Z3 series in Canada. The update comes in the form of build number 23.4.A.0.570, moving the Xperia devices to Android 5.1.1 from 5.0.2 Lollipop. You can check below to see which firmware updates are available for which Canadian carrier.
The update has also landed on the Xperia Z2 and Z3 Tablet series for carriers in Japan and Taiwan. If you’re wondering whether this update fixes the Stagefright vulnerability, it doesn’t appear to be the case. This is using the latest version of the “Stagefright Detector App” from Zimperium. If you’ve updated, let us know how you are getting on with the update in the comments below.
