The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet has arguably been one of the most well-received Xperia devices launched in 2015. The inclusion of the BKB50 Bluetooth Keyboard in some regions, transferred it into a productivity delight for some. One of Sony’s most expensive Xperia devices deserves an equally premium case and we have the Noreve Xperia Z4 Tablet leather case for review.
Noreve is one of the leading manufacturers of luxury leather smartphone cases. The company, which was founded in Saint-Tropez in Southern France, has been around for many years and provides accessories for pretty much most smartphones and tablets released. The company’s slogan is “Haute Couture for Mobile Devices” which clearly gives an idea of its positioning. Check out our review below.
Noreve always uses aspirational packaging for its accessories and it is no different here. The Xperia Z4 Tablet case is placed in a Noreve-branded draw-string bag to keep it protected. It probably isn’t needed given the use of a hard cardboard box packaging, but it is nice touch nonetheless.
We have a gorgeous red (or ‘Tomate’ as Noreve prefers to call it) leather case in for review.
The red leather case is stunning to look at in the flesh, the pictures shown here really don’t do it justice. The case feels very elegant in the hand and you can get a real sense of level of materials used. Noreve uses soft leather but ensures that all sides of the tablet are protected.
There is ample room on the side of the tablet to access the headphone jack as well as the micro SD/nano SIM card slot. The case does not use a latch, but instead uses a magnetic closure which keeps the flap shut. From our testing, the magnet was powerful enough to ensure the front cover did not open accidentally.
The left side of the case has clear openings for the power button and volume rocker.
The right side has a single opening for the micro USB charging port.
Noreve has a nice big cut-out for the camera, which did not impede our ability to take pictures.
The Xperia Z4 Tablet is easily installed into the Noreve case, simply by sliding it into the two catches that you can see to the right of the picture. The inside of the case also adopts the same red leather colour scheme of the exterior.
The inside of the case is beautifully embossed with the Noreve logo. You will also find three ridges that allow the tablet to stand at three different angles.
Using the case as a stand felt secure in the three different angles. The only niggle we had was that the bottom portion of the tablet needs to be unclicked from the case before you can use it as a stand.
Overall thoughts
The Noreve Xperia Z4 Tablet leather case is a premium case for a premium product. The case costs €85.00 with free worldwide shipping. Noreve is confident enough in its products that if you aren’t satisfied, it will offer you your money back. The elegant case won’t be for everyone and unfortunately this particular model cannot accommodate the BKB50 Bluetooth Keyboard (however another Noreve case can). Despite this, if you don’t own the keyboard, and you want to ensure that your tablet is well protected in a beautifully crafted case then you should definitely consider Noreve.
