Sony Xperia AOSP CameraSony Mobile has made available an experimental AOSP (Android Open Source Project) camera for developers. The idea behind the move is to encourage development of custom ROMs with basic camera functionality. We say ‘basic’ because the open source camera does not include any of Sony’s enhancements, the camera is based on the Qualcomm framework and is not “designed for daily use.”

It is worth flagging that this developer-only camera framework has a number of limitations. For example, the camera is not calibrated therefore the picture quality is not to the same standard as what you are used to seeing with the Xperia camera software. Sony also cautions that “you will experience lags and crashes.”

The experimental AOSP camera framework is available for the following devices: Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact, Z Ultra, Z2, Z2 Tablet, Z3, Z3 Compact, Z3 Tablet Compact, Z4 and Z4 Tablet. Support for the Xperia Z5 series, E3, M2 and T3 will be added in due course. If you want to find out more hit the source link below.
