Sony Mobile’s latest creative R&D experiment is a fantastic 360-degree 4K video shot using twelve Xperia Z5 Compact smartphones. The video was taken at the Rise Ski & Snowboard Festival in Les Deux Alpes and was captured using a specially designed 3D printed mount. Each handset captured 4K video, with Sony jokingly dubbing the final product as ‘48K’.
You can check out the video below – ensure the resolution is at 4K (2160) and then you can use your mouse to simultaneously view the footage in 360 degrees. If you have a Google Cardboard to hand then even better. It’s very cool stuff and this video is currently being played at CES above the Sony booth. Check it out below.
