Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact heading to US on 7 February

Better late than never? The official Sony Mobile website has confirmed that both the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact will arrive in the United States on 7 February. There is no hint of any carrier support and given the time since the handsets launched globally, the most likely outcome is that these models will be available unlocked SIM-free from select retailers such as Amazon.com, Best Buy and B&H. The Xperia Z5 is expected to cost US$599.99, with the Xperia Z5 Compact costing US$499.99.
If you are in the US, are you happy to hear this news – were you patiently waiting for models to arrive with official warranty or did you give up and go with a different brand? Or did you just buy the international model months ago? We’d love to hear your views below.
Thanks Donnie, Marco, Pace and P.RB!
