With a number of handsets receiving the Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware update that weren’t expected to, we’ve had many Xperia M4 Aqua owners ask whether the same will happen for them. Well according to Sony’s official twitter channel, the M4 Aqua will not receive Android 5.1 and instead skip straight to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as was originally envisaged.
While we wait for Marshmallow, Sony Mobile has updated the Android 5.0 firmware of the Xperia M4 Aqua (E2303) and M4 Aqua Dual (E2333) in the Nordic region. This upgrades the build numbers to 26.1.A.3.92 for E2303 and 26.1.B.3.91 for E2333. We haven’t seen the firmware appear for other Xperia M4 Aqua variants, so this might only be region specific. FTF firmware files are available below if you would like to give the new update a try.

@KarCerKK Regarding your question the Xperia M4 Aqua will skip Android 5.1 and will receive Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
