Be the star of Blade Runner 2049 with Sony 3D Creator

Sony’s 3D Creator app is one of the standout features of the recently launched Xperia XZ1 and Xperia XZ1 Compact. The app allows you to create 3D scans of people and objects in surprisingly accurate detail. These scans can then be used as avatars or you can even print them out in 3D.

Well Sony has announced another cool feature using 3D Creator that can put you centre-stage inside Blade Runner 2049, the well-received sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 classic, that has just hit cinemas.

If you want to give it a try then you’ll need to download the Shadow app from the Google Play Store on your Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. Then use the 3D Creator app to pull up a previous scan and hit ‘share’, selecting the Shadow app. This will bring up the Blade Runner 2049 experience, within the apps “Hollywood” section. It’s a great showcase of the 3D Creator feature, so if you have an Xperia XZ1 or XZ1 Compact you should definitely give it a try.
