Here it is folks, your first look at the Xperia XZ2 Compact, due to be announced at MWC 2018 next week. The picture below shows the Xperia XZ2 Compact next to a Xperia Z5 Compact. The new design shows the curved bottom, which ties in with Sony’s earlier tease. The image comes from a comment by ‘Grisha’ in our earlier post today about Sony’s MWC video tease.
In the comments, Grisha says that the picture is of a prototype, and may not represent the final version. Grisha goes on to confirm that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack, and that the fingerprint sensor is located on the rear of the device, much like the Xperia XA2 series.
Our understanding from speaking to our contacts is that the picture is representative of the Xperia XZ2 Compact. The final version will have a slightly smaller bezel on the top of the screen. The design also matches the plate + human design concept that was leaked back in 2015. Ultimately though this is basically the Xperia XZ2 Compact. We’ll bring you more details when we have it. [Thanks Grisha!]
