Sony Mobile recently updated some of its older entry-level and mid-range Xperia smartphones. The Xperia XA1, XA1 Plus and XA1 Ultra saw their firmware move from 48.1.A.2.50 to version 48.1.A.2.73, adding the 5 November 2018 Android security patches in the process.
In addition, the Xperia L2 saw its build number move from 49.0.A.6.46 to version 49.0.A.6.56, while the Xperia L1 saw its build number move from 43.0.A.7.70 to version 43.0.A.7.89. Both also have the 5 November 2018 Android security patches.
Strangely, the now very old Xperia M5 was also updated a few weeks back from build number 30.2.X.1.21 to version 30.2.A.2.1 (single-SIM E5603 variant only). This new firmware did not hit any other variants, or the dual-SIM models, and it didn’t change the security update (it remains on 1 September 2016), so there must have been some small bug fixes for this model only.
Let us know your impressions on these new updates if you recently updated.
