Since the Xperia 5 II was announced, there was no word which carrier would be picking up the handset in Japan. Well now we know that it will be picked up by au by KDDI (other carriers could follow suit) where it will have model number Xperia 5 II (SOG02). The handset will be available in four colours (black, blue, pink and grey) when it releases in late October 2020. It is available to pre-order now at the au Online Shop.
In other Japan-related Sony Xperia news, the SIM-free Xperia 10 II has been announced for a variety of MVNO companies including nuro mobile, mineo, IIJmio and Simseller. Both black and white models are available, when it releases on 1 October 2020. The phone will be priced at 39,800 yen (tax excluded).
