I'm hearing either March 31 or April 8 from what I can dig up from the internet but no substantial information that can find. Anyone have any new information you'd like to share?
We've heard no confirmed dates. This is a ghost phone from Sony Mobile - we're surprised that given SM wants to crack the market that there's been no updates on release date apart from Q2.
Great article today everyone should voice their opinion and leave a comment there... Radio silence on the Xperia ion
I just read that the expected release date in May 2012. I'm way past frustrated at this point! Sony is messing up! Check out this link. http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=specs&id=3298&c=sony_xperia_ion_lt28at_sony_aoba I don't know how old this post is, but it's the first date that I've seen in a while.
fwiw, a search for Sony Ion turned up a Sony Mobile ad with "coming in june" in the text. however going to the Sony linked page did not show any such wording. However the lack of it's appearance on PTCRB at this stage is strange, it should be there already even if it was just in testing. The X10a appeared on PTCRB in April for Roger's release but wasn't available on ATT until August 2010. I'll guess that ATT is going to give 1 month support in advertising exclusives to the HTC X One this month and the Sony next month. While Sony Entertainment was able to get two tablets sold by ATT, quickly, the Mobile people (which are still the old SE people it appears), still don't have ATT's ear or interest with their phones, with the total rejection of the S, P, and U models by ATT and the continuing silence on the ION which (to me) seems to be the better model.
Seriously!! SONY is F***ing up big time! I'm about to jump ship if the Galaxy S III comes to the U.S. before the Ion!
Sony has been having lots of great PR on the other 2012 models. What they have been selling (not that many units in reality) have been selling well. Since they also use Chinese assemblers such as Foxcomm they may be having problems getting time on the assembly lines with the continuing demand/sales of the iPhone/iPad and other 'assembled in china' products. Samsung has their own assembly lines (as well as fabrication) so they have much more direct control on the release dates, etc. and the GIII release.
Finally some news....ok guys we got FCC approval today for the Sony Ion should be coming in June. Wondering if they will be changing anything externally since they had extra time what do you guy think.
