Hi guys I don't know if i'm supposed to ask this or not and i'm sorry if not but I can honestly say i'm the most confused i've ever been thanks to the whole rooting business lol. I have an Xperia Ray (ST18i) bought from the UK and I really wanted to root it so I could uninstall some of the useless applications that come on the phone but after hours of searching google i'm yet to find anything remotely helpful on the matter. So far all I know is the firmware version I am on is currently not rootable (4.0.2.A.0.62) but I updated the phone when I got it to this new version but there are several things that have baffled me as i'm very new to Android, they are : 1) How do I know if I have a locked bootloader? 2) Where can I find the original firmware if I was able to downgrade and am I limited to what versions I can revert back to? 3) Are there any guides on how to downgrade firmware and root etc? Flashing, rooting, downgrading is all so confusing with their being so many different firmwares and handsets, not just Sony but all of Android and I switched from the iPhone where all I needed to know was what iOS version I was on and it was either jailbreakable or it wasn't. Hopefully somebody can help me, once I know what i'm doing it will be fine but there are so many variables thanks to the Android platform being used on so many different handsets that I simply don't know where to begin. Thanks in advance for any help !!
