I've had my xperia s for a while now but have not really used much of its functionality yet. I'm about to go on holiday so started reading up on how to play my music, from a usb flash drive, on the phone (I wanted to keep as much free storage as possible on the sd card for photos & videos). I bought an OTG cable today and all looked fine as I plugged it into the phone. The flash drive immediately lit up and "USB storage connected" appeared on the phone. I opened Astro but that only showed what's on the internal sd card. I looked at the storage settings and found the USB drive on there - it tells me how much of the drive is used but I'm unable to see or play what's on it. Any idea what might be wrong?
Yes I had watched and followed the video but in Astro I was not seeing an icon for usbdisk. What I hadn't seen was the UP icon in Astro which took me back to the MNT folder (it had been showing MNT\SDCARD), playing around with it again just now I pressed the UP icon and could then see the icon for usbdisk and all its sub-folder s beneath that. The only part that doesn't now seem to work is that when I select USB Storage Connected the phone goes back to the previous screen I was viewing and does not show me the storage information as shown on your video. Is there a quick way of getting to that screen to unmount the USB drive?
I'm not sure if there is a quicker way unfortunately, I've certainly not found one. Glad to see at least part of it is working!
