EurosOne important factor missing from yesterday’s Sony Ericsson MWC press conference was price. It always irks me when companies leave out such a fundamental part of the overall proposition. Anyway, thanks to @aqnx, we can reveal the RRPs (recommended retail prices) for the German market – we’d be surprised if they differed from other parts of mainland Europe.

The Xperia Play will be the most expensive on release at €649 (£546), even more so than the Xperia arc at €599 (£504). The Xperia Pro will be €499 (£420), whilst the Neo will be €479 (£403).

If this pricing stands, it is worth remembering they represent RRPs only and the actual sim-free cost come launch is likely to be a lot cheaper. For example, the Xperia arc is currently up for pre-order in the UK for around £450, significantly cheaper than the €599 (£504) quoted above. It’s also interesting to note that there will be around a £100 difference between the Xperia arc and Xperia neo. Both phones sport similar specs, apart from display size and design, and at this price point the neo is likely to be a popular choice.
