Xperia P and Xperia U hits UK pre-order

in Xperia P, Xperia U

The Sony Xperia P and Xperia U Android smartphones are now up for pre-order in the UK. Play.com has both handsets listed on its site, the Xperia P will set you back £379.99, whilst the Xperia U will cost £229.99.

Play.com has a late April release for both handsets. These prices broadly match those we heard earlier, we do feel that the Xperia P price is a tad too high given the competition, but you are paying for that aluminium unibody construction.

“…but you are paying for that aluminium unibody construction.” And for small 1300 mAh battery and only 13 GB for use.

  • Widz

Best to wait for the S to lower in price I reckon. Or to see what this ‘Hayabusa’ will be…

  • If only they had a handset with the Xperia S + P + U all in one :|
Glowing transparent strip, alumnium unibody, 720p HD display, 12MP camera, 1.5 Ghz Dual core processor :[
    The Xperia Spu? :D

  • Plus WhiteMagic display I guess.

  • Xperia P is too heavy and expensive, Xperia U is too narrow for typing. Will my perfect phone ever be made?

  • Ppmanguin

    WTF Sony.

P is “mid-tier” phone with “low end” specs and “high end” construction and “high end” price

    Anyone see the problem here!?

Unfortunately, many people in N/A only care about specs even if the phone looks and feels like crap.
It will be a disaster bringing this phone here at that price.

  • Atlas

being that picky i doubt it

  • Chengwah1225

I would buy xperia u if they make 4inches screen

  • Wobi

P is still overpriced I think.

  • jex

it is much better if Xperia UPS

  • Asad Mulla

     Dont forget Whitemagic Display.

    Where is the Pepper???

The U is set at an affordable price but I wouldn’t consider theP until it drops to £300- hopefully people can restrain themselves from buying it and force Sony to cut the price quickly.

Only 13GB – you realise these days there are devices called PCs you can connect your phone to and store data on. I won’t talk about clouds – you might think I’m telling you to buy an umbrella.
