Sony officially announced the Xperia Tablet S for Japan earlier today. The tablet will ship on 15 September, with the cheapest 16GB version costing ¥40,000 ($510), the 32GB version will be ¥48,000 ($612) and the 64GB version will cost ¥56,000 ($714).
Sony is running a campaign for those that order the tablet between launch and 6 January 2013, where 600 lucky random people will win ¥50,000 worth of coupons to be used in the Sony Reader e-book store. In addition to this, it will be offering a full-scale chocolate replica of the Xperia Tablet S for 10,000 people on a first-come, first serve basis. Now only if they offered such a promotion outside of Japan. Yum, yum.
