Disappointed that the front is not also red. The white ZL is white in the front too, and I expected the red one to be the same. Oh well…

Idiot. The standby time is 4 times better than a phone with the same battery. It has 2400mah battery and Stamina Mode. So no, battery life is not “horrible”

What is wrong with you Sony? One phone with front and back being of different colors? go figure!!!

um that’s even worse because between those times she isn’t doing ANYTHING with the phone other than a few swipes the last few seconds before the 3 minute mark. if anything, your nitpick makes the phone look even worse

also i guess that means the camera app is a HUGE battery hog

What phone do you have? Why don’t you do a test?

Turn on Airplane mode, make the max brightness and turn off auto dimming/auto sleep. and let your phone sit there and then see how much min(s) it takes to go down 1%

For shows like these where there’s tons of lights, they turn it on to max brightness.
So you don’t want to do the test?

yes.. i just want to see how the xperia ZL will do with my usage.

generally, i’m good with power usage/savings. i’ve dealt with the HTC amaze and one x, both of which had horrible battery life… i know how to squeeze more usage out of my phones, but it’s not a pleasant experience. Why have a smartphone when the very features it touts turn it into a brick in 5 hours? With the note 2, even under HEAVY usage, I get 10-12hrs. Thats with all sync on, data on, watching/streaming movies, listening to music, taking pictures, recording video, looking up websites, texting, making phone calls. (if you wanna know why i used them all, it was part of a vacation that included downtime) So even after using my phone heavily for 10-12 hours, I still had enough idle time to get back and charge the phone before it died. under normal usage, I get about 30+hrs, and light usage, i get anywhere between 2-4 full days, now THAT is what I call a smartphone.

I’m indifferent to touchwiz on my note 2, but prefer pretty much any other UI over it. It really is one of the worst UI’s ever. Good thing is that jellybean has added enough features so that tw doesn’t really interfere anymore, so i got the note 2

Anyways, I like sony as a brand overall, had sony phones in the past, but I did not get the sony xperia S awhile back due to old hardware, poor battery life, lack of an auto brightness sensor, lack of microsd slot, poor camera, and lack of (timely) support from sony. (but jellybean is “good enough” for me to not care about updates anymore.)

I love sony’s designs, but find some of their decisions mind boggling. Just looking at the ZL, initial camera samples are very bad, extremely noisy shots even in broad daylight, and mediocre battery life so far. Hope sony proves me wrong and I can assist them in their mobile comback without ericsson, because those two problems aside, this is a very nice phone..

Red Xperia Z would be more nice…

its a great colour, same as my ldbly do a b proba. but that aside i think people would buy on colour alone over other devices. Should probably do a bright blue and android lime green as well.
