Xperia Z and Xperia ZL announced for South East Asia [Update]

Sony Mobile held an Xperia Z and Xperia ZL launch event for South East Asia yesterday. We got confirmation of which handsets will launch in which country. The good news for those in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam is that both the Xperia Z and Xperia ZL will be launching during Q1. Those in Malaysia will only be getting the Xperia Z.

Whilst the Xperia ZL feels better in the hand ergonomically, the Xperia Z feels like the more premium handset with its glass back. You can check out some of our hands-on photos below of each handset.

Update: We have been told that the Xperia ZL will indeed be heading to Malaysia after all.

Xperia Z and Xperia ZL availability in South East Asia

The Sony Xperia Z and Xperia ZL will be available in the following markets during Q1 2013. The following list highlights the exact configurations that will be available in each market.

Inside the box will include the Sony MH-EX300AP headset, charger, micro USB cable for charging, synchronisation and file transfer, and user documentation.

    At last! Sony mobile did not release the Xperia TX/T here in the Philippines. And the Xperia V is carrier exclusive.

    W00t! Really tempted now being that the both phones is coming to Indonesia :D But yeah seems like i won’t upgrade for a while, razr maxx is still functioning properly given with any HD games :) Maybe when the price reaches to $450 at least then ;)

    It’s more likely India and Indian law that is making it take time than Sony “ignoring”. Sony would like to push every phone to as many markets as possible, but it’s easier to get to certain countries etc.

    why my country is the only one does not have zl…though it is not as premium like z but that added feature and compactness seems adorable…oh forgot it will come sometime..but the problem of sony mobile is that they have a hard time with their marketing…very late..plus the accessories pricey and not many available…
