Xperia Z and Xperia ZL to come with display calibration software?

Sony may be introducing some calibration software for its new Xperia flagships, judging by the screenshot below. It shows that you will be able to separately adjust white balance, colour saturation and hue to get your screen just how you like it.

The setting was only found in the Sony Xperia ZL handset rather than the Xperia Z, but we see no reason why Sony wouldn’t release it for both handsets (that is, of course, if this feature makes it to consumer devices). It sounds like a useful feature, especially given how important the display is to any smartphone. Let’s hope this feature makes it to retail.

If Sony makes this feature available on all of it’s 2013 devices then it will be such a good move.

What they are essentially doing it placing control of the display in the hands of the end-user, which is brilliant.

We can adjust just about every feature on our smartphones, why not the screen settings!

We were directly in touch with the source who said that it was only on the ZL. This corroborates with other reports (for example, see here from ePrice: http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/talk/4551/4850136/1/rv/sony-xperia-zl-l35h-launch/).

The Vietnamese source just said that this feature will PROBABLY appear on final units of both devices. No confirmation yet!

I know it was in a previous post but I’m glad they still have a lanyard, need to attach a flotation device for when I take it out on the lake. Really looking forward to reading while floating!

great, now ppl can tweak their LCD so they won’t complain about being washed out. Hope they will also let you turn on the xperia engine for permanently also, not limited to pictures and videos.

Porting this to Z from ZL won’t be hard at all,so even if Sony doesn’t give this to Z we always have xda-devs
