Xperia P firmware (6.2.A.0.269) listed by Bluetooth SIG; likely to be Jelly Bean

in Firmware, Xperia P

Bluetooth Xperia PThe Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) listed a new software version number for the Sony Xperia P (LT22i). Firmware version 6.2.A.0.269 is likely to introduce Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to the Xperia P, versus the current ICS firmware (6.1.1.B.1.89). We have not seen any firmware certified on the PTCRB website yet, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t coming, often firmware is certified after release. Sony previously said that the Xperia P will start to be updated from the end of March, so hopefully the above news means it is on track.

Thanks Aaron, Matthew, Mischell53 and Nabendu!

Cant wait to see… Xperia S certified FW… JB its coming… eh eh eh!!!!

  • Sagar

I guess a handful of developers can do the job of SW updates for Sony, but Sony has become a retard with updates. I’m an angry and disappointed Xperia S user.

  • Dimos

Put your :”Where is my xperia s jelly bean”: comments here

ps:Come on sony how can you update xperia p before xperia s?!? its outraging!

  • http://www.facebook.com/riotrick Rick Schippers

I have an xperia s. Been running jelly bean for a while on it: cyanogenmod 10. Would be good to have the official Sony rom released though.

  • Kima

Dimos, they are boring but it’s not funny…

  • ProWeirdo

Exactly, March didn’t even end (btw Xperia S should get at the beggining of April) and people lready say that Sony’s liar.

  • xhsjdfufh

Still waiting for 6.1.1.B.1.89, currently on 6.1.1.B.1.54 … If past experience is anything to go by, as soon as 6.2.A.0.269 is available, I will get 6.1.1.B.1.89 – always one release behind in the UK. I’ve still got the bug where half the photo is dark when using the flash for 8MP photos!!

  • Dime

if they don’t update JB for xperia s on late march early april like they said … i ‘ll definitely cancel sony about mobile phones… or if something wrong they can say something about or talk something more about xperia s like that to say what updates will get when or something like that… definitely not fair to xperia s costumers… (late ICS because of waiting to update their 2011 older phones than late JB because they update first the new phones xperia j,v,t such a great politic bravo ! )

  • Sagar

Are you a Xperia S user and a stylist?

  • Feanor

LIKELY to introduce Jelly Bean??? It seem like a dead cert to me… The certification mentions Design: Nypon_JB… What else can JB mean apart from Jely Bean? Jim Beam? :-))

  • Sheikh Masud

    Finally!

  • Sagar

    Jelly Bum

Can’t you guys just wait? SONY didn’t forced you to buy their stylish phones. If you want to have a new software or firmware every month, then switch to that plastic phones. (If you do that, I am really sure you’ll miss the elegant designs of a phone.)

  • Carlo Lim

Oh and by the way, i am not excited to have the JB update (I know it would be so cool), cause I still didn’t have a problem with my Xperia Acro S even after using it for 6 months now! Still smooth and it didn’t even LAG yet.

.89 has not been released in the open in any market. I guess its either a development release or a limited version.

Hoping P will get JB in a week’s time!

do you realise that we are crying for xperia s 4.1 while all other companies get ready for 4.2 which we won’t ever see?

  • http://twitter.com/sanya_bas Саня Белёв

I’m waiting for JB! Flashtool is ready >:D

  • mrhangover Rox

ZZZZ>…. its xperia P getting nearer, why so busy body wants xperia S jelly bean too, just follow what sony tell what is going to update 1st..

  • frostyNinja

Jolly Bum. It even has sense.

  • answer?

Hey there..I have the same problem when I updated my Xperia p to ( 75 ) firmware as using the flash..it gets half black side to the pic . . I wonder if that was purposely done ?

  • Musab Adam

Developers need to make sure that it is perfectly working nefore they hand it over to you CHILL OUT AND BE PATIENT

  • Christian Hizon

    Nice, It’s about damn time.

  • Mandeep Sangwan

I will wait till 5 April for Xperia p update otherwise I have to root my xp device to solve the camera problem… its like hell for me :( .. lets see , very excited

  • Brian

it says “Design: Nypon_JB” maybe the JB stands for Jelly Bean… :)

  • Carlo Lim

Exactly,! Every update from xperia comes with new apps (and those apps are great)

  • Kamesvara

it is hard to believe that Sony still shows off their face after their
failure in meeting the deadline of the Jelly bean upgrade for Xperia p
and s. I start to doubt, actually I have doubted, their good will in
providing best service for their customers. It is not surprising when
their used-to-be-loyal customers start to flirt with another better
products like htc, lg, or samsung. I am truly dissapointed with it, and
so are the other xperia p and s users. It is better not to give any hope
for the update if they can’t make it real on time.

  • amir

Please xperia P try to update as soon as possible JB

  • mehdi

when release finally JB for xperia P?

  • Erick Orlando

Sigo esperando que llegue la actualización y nada! Ya es 16 de Abril y el Sony Companion me dice que mi teléfono ya está actualizado. Grrrr!!!
