SmartWatch 2 GarminSony and Garmin are set to announce a new navigation app designed for the SmartWatch 2 according to Pocket-Lint. Smartwatches are ideally suited to providing navigation directions and up until now the SmartWatch 2 has lacked a decent navigation app.

The report says that the new application will enable pedestrian navigation and is set to be announced ahead of MWC 2014 i.e. any time now. The partnership will see the app preinstalled on all new SmartWatch 2’s sold going forward. We’re looking forward to an exciting week of Sony Mobile related news as Mobile World Congress kicks off on Monday 24 February.

Too bad the watch is lacking GPS stand alone functionality. I want to use it for running but leave my phone at home! Not gonna buy this until it has build in GPS…

  • This is cool/interesting news.

I really hope they announce some big software updates for SW2 to enhance functionality for the watch! It has a lot of potential and I don’t want to see the Pebble get all the attention in the media and from developers.

Very interesting thing I just come across at – I could choose any number of jewellery items (from the list) at very heavy discount rates (up to 75% off online) – more we buy more discount – I never seen this before.
