    Full HD on 8 inches..fail

  • jonyah

release date and price. that’s all that matter now.

  • Ambroos

There’s nothing fail about that. Sure, they could go higher, but you’re sacrificing battery life and performance for a pixel density that isn’t noticeably better.

  • Ambroos

For The Netherlands: release this fall, pricing:

    WIFI 16 GB € 399,-
    WIFI 32 GB € 449,-
    LTE € 499,-

Very, very reasonable if you ask me. They look soooooo good!

  • jonyah

Not after Asus released theirs for $199 (US). I’d hope to get this for around $400-450 for the LTE version, but I guess that’s not happening.

  • DoctorDroid

    give it to me!

  • Stevan Dj

Now some niggas will say; Dem Bezels!

  • walker

how about fullHD on 21′ display ,still better right ,and think again on 8′ ,it will have deep ppi on the scree !

  • Guest

What’s the resolution of the front facing camera?

  • It’s using 801, performance would be better with this resolution rather than getting a higher res panel with 800 *cough tab s *cough.. I’d say this would perform better than what samsung or other brands are offering.. Well.. With the exception of the k1 running tabs..

  • Anon

    2.2MP.

  • Max

It’s more expensive than the iPad Mini with Retina. In what world is that a reasonable price?

It should have been €299 and £249.

  • apolloa

WILL ALL THE TECH SITES PLEASE STOP WITH THE 1080P SCREEN, THIS HAS A HIGHER RESOLUTION THAN THAT!!!!

    1920 x 1200 pixels

    From:
    http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/xperia-tablet-z/sgp611-sgp612-sgp621/specifications

And it’s not cheap in the UK either, bummer, it comes in WiFi and LTE variants and 16 and 32GB sizes but it STARTS from £329! That’s a bit high.
Soooo can anyone tell me, can you move things like games files to the SD card in Sony’s KitKat?

  • Clarence Alvarado

Will it have a phone functionality like calls and text messages? AFAIK, Z2 Tablet has this feature. Correct me if i’m wrong.

  • apolloa

A good quick hands on video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN4FC4XsZUA not by me

  • ron3000

    Dem MOFO BEZELS……

  • hansip

Looking at the photo from the sides, boy i sure wish that this is a Z Ultra successor. One can only dream..

  • apolloa

I would think so, it has an LTE / 4G version and on the screenshots above it has the dialing icon, I would think you’ll need a headset though to use as a phone.

  • Replacing my ultra with a compact.. a tablet compact :D

  • MasterYoda

    Luca = stupid comment

    Fail!!

  • Rikimaru

For France wifi 16go is 379 Euros. 300euros would be better yes but compare to most tablet. Ipad mini is not water proof, don’t manage Hi-res sound, don’t have NFC,don’t have noise reduction canceling. But Sony could sale more if the price was starting at 320 euros.

  • apolloa

    Here’s a better hands on:

  • killuha

trololol in Switzerland 429 CHF :P

  • rikimaru

429chf do 356 euros. Thanks for notice it. May I will buy it there :)

  • Shubham Mutreja

yes of course……but only in sonys kitkat!!!!!

  • bista

I wonder if I could use this as a phone. It has the Caller app on the screen!

edit: nvm, no flash. would it really take up too much space? Was thinking about replacing Ultra with this, but now it’s useless.

  • Rikimaru

    Yes you can !

This isn’t a phablet is it? I mean you can’t make phone calls like a phone does? I was hoping it would be a Xperia Z Ultra successor, but I guess not. I do hope for a 6″ phablet.

  • Danny

I want a high-end successor to the 6.4 Xperia Z Ultra. T2 is a low-end with 8GB and 1.4Ghz Quad-core CPU, low spec and no IP rating. 8″ is too big to be a phone.

  • LancerEX

I wonder if it will have an app that connects to another phone to view your incoming calls, texts and notifications? :(

  • apolloa

Ah sorry mate I didn’t see your reply before. Thanks for that, that’s great news. I will be getting the 16GB model for Christmas, I’ve got a Sandisk 32GB Extreme Plus SD card for it so it will all be good. I am also going to get the Xperia Z3 Compact too at some point.

All I have to decide is black or white?

  • Shubham Mutreja

    yeah lucky boy!!!!!go for it
PS i am still at mini pro gen!!!!!!

  • I want this tablet! Very nice!

  • Pit

I wonder if new tablet will support 60fps PS4 gaming. If anyone got psvita will know what I mean. Would remont play on Z3 will be as smooth as the one from my full HD tv ? What you think guys?

  • Charles222

Could be, if you got the LTE model and did the whole Voice-hangouts integration thing on there.

  • Mark McCoskey

Does this LTE phone work on T-Mobile USA?
