Xperia Z3 System DumpObtaining firmware from upcoming Sony Xperia devices has been made much easier nowadays thanks to tools such as XperiFirm and FlashTool. The Xperia Z3 is a case in point as the system dump for the device has now been obtained, allowing devs to begin porting all of the goodies including home launchers, apps and wallpapers to older Xperia devices. This is Android 4.4.4 firmware with latest software build number 23.0.A.2.93. Expect to see a whole number of ports in the coming days.

Let the raid begin indeed. I prefer the larger scaled icons of the new launcher. Very similar to the google now launcher. Really takes advantage of the high res displays. It also seems that the Ok Google function is now incorporated too.
The z2 will most certainly get a very similar kitkat build. I only hope whatever improvements to image quality is also

Can z1 have it? I really like the home laucher and the new walkman on z3!

Hope that remote play app gets ported soon (as in today hopefully :p ) for my Z2

I wonder is the Ultra Stamina Mode can port for older Xperia Z series ~

The OK Google function is incorporated into older devices if you have the latest Google Now. You just have to activate it from the settings. I already have it activated on my Z1.

Woah! Good thing i read the comments… My first time to activate that function. Haha! Thanks!

No problem. It didn’t get much coverage for some reason. And it works almost too good. Yesterday I was watching a video on my phone where the phrase ‘OK Google’ gets mentioned and lo and behold it activated Google Now on my phone.

Let the porting begin! Can’t wait to install the new Camera App from Sony, in union with the Google Camera, I’ll be armed with the best smartphone camera tools EVER! (say the Ever with the voice of Dracula!)

Lots of traffic and downloading going on there. Try some 10-15 minutes time, or worse case, an hour’s time.

The raid is ongoing so lets be patient with the download. :)

Will you post ported features on xperiablog or do we have to look out for it on xda ?

  • Nkansah Rexford

Perhaps keeping an eye on XDA will be much quicker, I guess:

The question is whether the WiFi modules of older Xperia devices are good enough for lag-free Remote Play.
