by XB on 1st October 2014

in Xperia Z3 series

Xperia Z3Sony is making a big effort to sell its phones across as many regions and carriers as possible. The company confirmed Canadian launch details earlier today including the fact that it will hit a wide range of carriers including Bell, MTS, Rogers, SaskTel, TELUS and WIND Mobile when it launches on 31 October 2014. The Xperia Z3 will also be available unlocked from Sony Stores on the same date in black, white and copper colours. Pricing hasn’t been revealed and neither has availability of the Xperia Z3 Compact. We’ll let you know once we’ve heard more.

    Whaaaaa? No green unlocked? :(

  • Alex Baloch

WHAT!? WIND MOBILE IS SELLING THE Z3!?! WIND MOBILE IS SUCH A CHEAP MOBILE CARRIER, HOW CAN IT BE SUPPLYING A SMARTPHONE LIKE Z3!?!? I buy phones unlocked though.

I’m gonna stick with the Z2, I’m afraid the Z3 will bend.

Excellent. The next step for Sony Mobile is to make the Z3 and Z3 compact available on as many US carriers as possible. It’s time to give Apple and Samsung some competition.

I am so so so glad this is happening I was so worried Rogers wasn’t going to carry it but omg wow I’m just so excited <33

  • Dude

  • Ziegfrid Gualberto

    thats too bad. LOL

  • Ziegfrid Gualberto

Month away? Hmmm so after that October 9 announcement for US I have wait a month for release as well… Hmmm cant wait! Impatience

  • MarkLastiwka

The thing is, pretty much all the Canadian Carriers use the same 3G and LTE bands (Wind excluding), so it is technically easy to do it here. In US, that is a different story…

  • MarkLastiwka

Where do you get green from? the Z3 is only available in the three listed colours.

  • Raj Singh

This is already available in Canada…

  • Wait for it,you can’t just buy a Z3 u got to earn it

  • Jurippe

Z3 is available in green, but apparently not in Canada. Though I’m probably getting mine later today in Green but imported.

  • MarkLastiwka

Oh you mean the silver colour. Hmm…

  • Jurippe

It’s called silver green or olive apparently.

Unfortunately the place I was going to get it is sold out of that colour. Gotta wait til next week.

The phone is only a year and a half old.

it seems everything is prepared for Z3 to be sold all over the world. But it seems I can’t wait long enough for it to come here in the US.
I just hope they don’t screw up the pricing and be like 700-800 USD. that’s just ridiculous. India selling it at that price (rupees to USD).
I know T-mobile is receiving the Xperia Z3, but many people would love the 4.7″ Xperia Z3 Compact, there is a petition going on T-Mobile forums.
Also, let’s make those rumors true, SONY. Verizon and Sprint should carry the Z3 and Compact as well. however, there is no news or rumors about them on AT&T, right? well, if they can at least release it on 2 of the 4 major carriers.

All I can say for now is, Sony Canada got it right.

2 things are making me consider the Z3: onboard memory and fingerprint security access. Why can’t Sony include 32GB memory minimum and 64GB or more is beyond me. As I understand it right now, apps cannot run from SD cards, and even if so, it means reinstalling apps if one switches between cards. Fingerprint security should be evolutionary. Overall, I like my Z1 – it was better than the iPhone 5. Hardware-wise, I think it’s superior, and Sony will eventually improve software for their cameras and other things to make it an easier choice. As an aside, I wish they would make a next gen Ultra as well.

Hey guys, I just wanted to clear up some of the confusion on this post regarding the Green/Silver Z3, It IS available in Canada, however it is a WIND Mobile exclusive.

  • Jurippe

That’s good to hear. Even the guys at the Sony store were shocked to see my Silver Green Z3.
