  • Kiwison

I hope location based wifi returns

  • Hafez Kayali

Certified for the Z2 D6503 as well.

  • David Hvatov

Hope that system equalizer will work again..

  • kido

    Yeah i hope so to

  • bobeobi gzigzigzeo

    It won’t

  • Haldi

    why not?

  • bobeobi gzigzigzeo

It was said on official forum by Sony, that feature has been removed

  • Stemro

Location services waste a lot more battery than Wi-Fi anyway, so you’re better of turning those off.

  • Paul M

do you think this is lollipop 5.0.2, or 5.1? my guess is the former.

  • bilomar

They also removed the option WiFi optimization from the Wi-Fi settings

I have no idea how to create themes but I made made these nav buttons (replaced them on this theme )

  • bilomar

I have no idea how to create themes but I made these nav buttons (replaced them on this theme ) maybe I will make a PlayStation theme sometime if I learn how to do it lol

  • bilomar

I think it’s just a bug fix for 5.0.2, maybe Sony will wait for 5.1.1

  • Pickicool

    Too ugly for me… :/
    Sorry to say it.

  • bilomar

Yeah, it’s just a experimental thing for me, If I learn how to make themes I will try doing better. In this one I just replaced the nav buttons from a theme of someone else.

  • nice2knowu

Please please let this fix the inconsistent status bar color across apps that haven’t been fully redesigned for Lollipop! These status bars should just be black and not the theme color you have selected…

  • Hugo Leonardo

And I’m still waiting the previous update here in Brazil =/
they release in a few countries and all we hear from Sony is silence like “ok, we released the update, our job is done”

  • Shaktimaan

    Omg 86 tabs lol :p

  • rygarto

Someone’s Z2 Lollipop is working well

  • Night_Elve

Since I updated my Z2 to Lollipop, I’m having a really annoying issue when trying to charge my phone, even that the phone is connected either by the magnetic port or the USB, the charging indicator and led notification starts flickering and the charging gets interrupted.

Keep in mind that this happens randomly during the day.

This started happening as soon as I updated my phone to Lollipop, I did not have this problem under KitKat.

  • jmaxim917

    Good effort, keep at it.

  • Faisal Armand

I can only hope that Sony brings full manual controls in this firmware (addition of shutter speed & manual focus settings) I’m okay with no RAW as I believe that image processing isn’t as bad as people think and RAW on a 1/2.3″ sensor will be a pain in the ass to configure anyway

  • Afzal Zainal Rddz

Hope this update will makes z3 speaker louder..

  • Apurba2790

Hope the earphones sound and speaker sound gets louder again in Z3 as it was in kitkat and there should b some camera improvements!!

  • japolis

    looks cool

Raise up this comment, so everyone could see it, as there is no news about it on XperiaBlog source.

  • Kurt Stad

Does anyone know when 23.1.A.0.726/740 starts rolling out for Xperia Z2

  • +1 @bilomar:disqus Don’t give up.

  • Major

when should we expect the Lollipop update down in South Africa for the Z3?

  • Akhil G

Repair your phone using PC companion and obviously do take backup first.

    That would resolve the problem.

  • Ibrahem Salah

    I do :D
    i’m on 726 now

  • Dean

Meanwhile I’m still waiting for lollipop on my HK D5833

  • Kurt Stad

I tried both over OTA and PC Companion – no luck.
I’m in Denmark – so I obiously have to wait a little longer :(

    you can flash nordic firmware

  • nice2knowu

I went ahead and flashed the Singapore version. No wipe necessary and it’s super easy. It’s the same model number so all is good.

  • Dean

I was thinking of trying that but I heard unless you do a full factory reset that the battery isn’t as good or something. Also does Singapore use the 4g or LTE icon?

  • Dilesh Perera

keep it up . never give up .

  • nice2knowu

You might be right, I did notice worse battery life in the first few days… I think it’s better now, but I’m thinking of a full wipe as well to make sure all is good. This one is using the LTE icon.

  • Ibrahem Salah

I flashed US firmware lollipop and i updated it to 726 using PC companion in MENA

  • Nick Papanotas

    Xperia Z2 Tablet??

  • Sweggity

God dammit Sony u know how hard it is to update a Rooted Xperia Z2/Z3?

  • Sweggity

Android 5.1 will come end of this year or maybe 5.2…

  • Abdul Ghani

maybe they just added close all to all regions

  • Abdul Ghani

maybe they just added close all to all regions

  • pixlas

I also have a problem where the battery only charges to 85%,. Same for you? Did you repair the phone in PC Companion? did it work?

  • guitar_shredda*

are you using a South African Z3 or an international model

  • The_Newtype

I’m late to the game, but I finally snagged a D6603 in copper and it should be here Thursday. Sony seems to be doing a fine job releasing these bug-fixing updates, so that makes me all the more pleased with my choice to give another Sony device a try.

  • I’m still waiting on my carrier in South Africa for *ANY* Lollipop upgrade for my Z3…

  • vigneshprince

    looks nice anyway

  • vigneshprince

    what’s that?

  • Haldi

there is a official sony theme creator…… (in Beta)

  • Haldi

use Flashtool and download version for another region and flash this :)

  • bilomar

But it’s for kitkat themes or does it support lollipop now

I just received this update on my US Xperia Z3 tablet compact. Keep the updates coming Sony!

  • Guys my speakers stopped working out of the sudden, does anyone know hoe to fix this?

  • That’s not a Sony issue or Lollipop, it’s based on what active theme you have as it defaults to the theme when an app isn’t updated with Lollipop theme support yet.

Either apply the “white” Xperia theme or download a black theme apk from XDA or Play Store.

  • nice2knowu

It is. I used 2 other phones, both running Lollipop, and this was never an issue. Whenever there is an unsupported app the status bar stays black like in KitKat. On the other hand whenever you’re using Sony’s system-wide themes, it would default to that color, not black. Light blue status bar looks really out-of-place in a lot of the apps, so I am using the White theme. It is still not very nice with that though…
I’ve looked at black themes before, but they changed too much… And also, I don’t like Sony apps with black theme. I am a little picky but this issue is definitely caused by the way Sony themed their software (system apps change their themes based on the theme you select, not the apps themselves are themed separately). There’s even a fix on XDA, but you have to be rooted to use it and fiddle with the xposed framework. Two things I swore not to do with this phone because I want to keep is stable.
    Anyway, let’s wait and see… :)

  • No. Those phones didn’t have the Xperia theme engine. Itis not a Sony issue, it is an app issue. As I said, simply apply the whnite theme or look for a more updated black theme on XDA.

Samsung will encounter the same issue with their theme engine when they fully release it.

This is completely the fault of the app developers who have no updated with Lollipop theme support, not an OEM issue or Google one.

  • nice2knowu

That’s true, they were not Sony devices. So when I used Google Keep, Gmail, or other Lollipop-updated apps, the status bar would change accordingly (yellow or red), but whenever I launched an app that doesn’t do this yet (let’s say Wechat), the status bar just remained black (like in Android KitKat). On my Z3 Compact, it will instead remain the theme’s color (blue, red, whatever…) which is really not nice…

  • nice2knowu
  • Kristijan Kaši?

  • Nick Papanotas
