Xperia Z5Sony Mobile India sent out press invites to an event being held on the 21 October 2015. Sony Mobile is expected to announce both the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Premium for the region, with the Xperia Z5 Compact not making the list.

At this stage it is unclear whether Sony India plans to launch the single SIM or dual SIM variants (or both) of each handset, but all will become clear next week. Don’t expect it to land in cheaply judging by recent Xperia releases. We’ll bring you more news on the launch details next week.

  • Zidhin Mohd

    Where did you see that

  • Nodar Sixarulidze

no no, it is 5.2 inch, may be mid range

  • Aiden Pearce

almost confirmed only dual sim variant is getting on the way. Xperifirm already lists the E6683 Dual CDA 1298-7547.
Also the official site lists only dual variant(showed single variant after IFA but later changed to dual).i was hoping for a single sim variant damn u Sony.
and i am pretty sure they would price it at 59990INR.

  • Aiden Pearce

and they had to do it when all other oems have launched their devices….retard sony, they try to cover all their loss by selling a single device.Guess no one taught them to sell cheap and sell more.

  • shenoy

How about Z5C. Am waiting from the day of IFA.

  • Kunal Shukla

I think I could have only afford the Z5 compact and that too is doubtful. Now i will wait for a year for the prices to drop

  • Kunal Shukla

Z3+ prices are down by 17K already. Let’s hope Sony will get the pricing right and will throw in some goodies in the box.

  • Raj Singh

What’s wrong with the dual SIM?

  • Achu kumar

dual please no, at least give option for single sim

  • Aiden Pearce

it means less support, very late updates and literally ignored by company itself.
you could have seen users screaming for updates when a single sim variant gets the update sooner…right in this forum…Also having used a recent C5 ultra Dual, i can say it has got some network issues whereas same sim card works fine in my Z3.

  • sid3091

I think prices will be down to a decent range by december. Z3+ was 40k within 1.5 months of release.

For the first time, they are releasing Dual SIM variants of flagship Z series in India due to increased customer’s request. You can have a SIM dedicated only for 4G data (Say Reliance Jio). I agree that there will not be much support for custom ROM. But you can make use of individual tweaks / mods which will help to suffice the need to customize the phone.

  • Raj Singh

    Good to know. Thanks.

  • Aiden Pearce

its not for customer but looking at the mid-rangers like motorola and oneplus selling much in India.

  • Kunal Shukla

i was hoping to get it this diwali…may be i will have to wait longer

  • Aiden Pearce

same here rushing this time for me, i paid a nice price while buying Z2 and Z3 on launch days..not anymore and 95% cases Sony 1st batches have one or other hardware defects.

  • Kaarthikeyan Swaminathan

That’s before Google integrated Dual sim into Android framework. Google supports Dual sim in its framework now making it easier for OEMs now.

  • jamie evans

and…when is the launch event for the US?

  • Ramona Asher

my collaborator’s stride mother makes $97/hr on the web…….…..Last weekend I Bought A Brand new McLaren F1 after earning 18,512$,this was my last month’s paycheck ,and-a little over, $17k last-month .No-doubt about it, this really is the most comfortable work I have ever had . I began this 8-months ago and pretty much immediately was bringing home at least $97, p/h…..Learn More right Here.

  • Aiden Pearce

i wish if it was that easy for oems, if it was the case then devices launching now would be running 6.0 take a look at the latest flagship Z5 running 5.1 and Z3+ didnot even make to 5.1 till yet and they are single sim variant!!!
